Mine was pretty good. I got mine from Mini of Universal City in SoCal, dealt with Victoria. I told her that I was referred from a local BMW dealership and wanted to get MSRP. She hooked it up and gave us discounts on some accessories.

I'm in the Bay Area, called or emailed East Bay, Sacramento, Concord (through Yahoo! Autos get-a-quote dealie), and Mountain View. Looks like almost all these dealers sell for MSRP (this was early July).

Overall, decent no-haggle experience. Dealing over the phone/email-only was great

Brecht Mini

I ordered my 2007 Cooper S hatchback through Brecht Mini of San Diego. At first, they were going to charge me for LoJack + Permaplate ($1500). I told the person I was dealing with I'd buy the car if he sold it for MSRP, without the products. He went and talked to his "boss" and came back, done deal. Overall was very enjoyable. I don't like haggling, so if he didn't give it to me for MSRP I would have just walked out. Don't like stress! It's good business for them and for me

After weeks of dealing with Baron MINI in Merriam, KS I've got to say they've really gone the extra mile on everything I've needed. While they're a little slow to reply to phone calls (I get voice mail usually) they do eventually answer all my questions, are very learned about the MINI product, and good to deal with. I've even started dealing with Samer, their Accessories Manager, and gotten the same helpful treatment.

Plus, from what I've gathered, they have better access to production slots than a lot of other MINI dealerships, being able to get cars produced and to the dealership months before other MINI dealerships in the region.

So, so far, it's overall been a very positive experience with them.

Baron Mini has been good to me as well. Was able to get $400 off msrp and rubber floor mats tossed in. I'm supposed to call Samer back to decide on bonnet & boot stripes. Everyone there has been excellent.
I agree on the early production slots. I ordered my car and it went into production a couple days later.
I'm hoping to pick it up next weekend!

I purchased my 2007 MCS off the lot in Mountain View in July. No markup, but no free mats either. Have to admit that I did not even try to get the mats, I was just happy to have the car.

Paid MSRP in Canada. Made a few attempts to reduce the cost and was advised there is no chance at having the price reduced.

Dealer does provide floor mats as a no cost addition to all clients.

Had to place a 1k deposit to secure my position in the queue until dealer received additional allocation. MSRP +175, with free floor mats of my choice + a full tank of gass. I would have had to go out of state to try to negotiate pricing (only one dealer in state.) I did consider flying down to California to shop - but decided it'd be better to just order what I want.

$500 off?

I was at Mini of Mt. View on Saturday and the MA there told me that they sell for MSRP, BUT if you like one they have in inventory that they would take $500 off. Looks like the competition in the Bay Area (Mt. View, Pleasanton, SF and Concord) has some effect. The MA said they used to charge a Dealer Mark-up but when Concord dropped the upcharge, they were forced to do the same. I haven't purchased a car yet, but

I ordered my MCS from Baron in the KC area on the telephone (handsfree!) the other day (driving in my BMW...). $350 off MSRP with mats. I echo the above: they respond to all your questions, but it takes a day or two (even by email). We will see how the rest of the experience pans out...

Not so much for me at Ottos. Got a $35 gift cert to the stupid store, and MSRP, period. Had an issue with the CEL light, so I gave up the Buzzby for a couple days. Left a note requesting floormats while it was there. Talked to the SA, confirmed the floormat expectation. Went to pick it up, and no mats. Parts was closed (their problem, not mine) so I still didnt get mats.
Feels like I am going to have to work overtime to get what I feel is fair out of those lazy fatcats @ Ottos.
If thats what they insist: look out, I'll unleash the redhead...

If it helps, MINI of the Main Line gave me MSRP. No gift certificate. No free floor mats.

On the positive side, I did get above blue book for my trade and they beat the financing rate that I had from my bank, so it wasn't all bad. But I really wanted the bulldog for my fiancee. Oh well.

"I want one."

"You'll pay MSRP plus $1,500."

"No I won't."

"Yes you will."

"No I won't."

"Yes, you will. Or you'll wait a year."

"But I don't wanna! It's not fair."

"We got 'em. You want one. We don't have to be fair."

"Tightwad."

"Alright, we'll take $1,300 over MSRP."

"...ok."

The conversation was something like that. Of course, this took place back in the summer of '03.

I also ordered my MCS and BMW X3 at Niello Sacramento at MSRP. The service was great. It was the best car-buying experience.

I live in Orlando but ended up purchasing my custom build from a South Florida dealer. I ended up with about $1k off MSRP plus lots of extra goodies. I could have gotten MUCH more if I was willing to do a convertible off the lot. The dealer in Orlando - while nice - would not bend on price at all.

Walked into Niello of Sacramento on Thu - was told that Coopers were $999 over and "S" were $1999 over and in the same breath I was told they now had room to "work" with the "over" - I just laughed and said "Ya" because most other CA dealers were at MSRP - NO answer - I left. Ended up at EB in the Bay area of CA - Very nice people - only got a tank of gas and carpeted mats - I plan to use my Visa and collect the points = $1 equals 1 cent cash back - do the math, not bad and I leave my cash in the bank for that extra 30 days and collect the interest. Works as long as I don't allow that Visa bill to go over the due date - then I am screwed..lol
