A 1989 Honda CRX non-Si.

Let me tell you, they dont make 'em like this anymore. 18yrs old, burns a little oil, but still gets 42mpg !!!! Non-Si but fast and nimble. In fact, this 18yr old car has more pep than the MC. We were dead set on the MC and then drove it. We decided we just couldnt replace an 18yr old car with one that wasnt as fun. No offense to you MC owners. Hence the MCS order. Of course, weighing in at only 1700 lbs makes a HUGE difference. Trying to sell it.

Behind that is a 1992 525. Twas free from our sister-in-law. The CRX is just about dead so we are surviving on that until the MCS arrives. Straight six 5-speed 525. Pretty fun.

Long overdue for an upgrade.

Our other vehicle is a Range Rover Sport - after 35,000 trouble free miles it's one of the sweetest drives on the road, but just about the other end of the automotive scale from the MCS. Dame Edna is replacing a Benz CLK convertible, also a "nice" car, but our first and last Benz!!!

05 Ford Focus, just like my 07 MINI a redesign, although the Focus was just a hood and light swap with a slight tweak to the Instrument Panel, and I could still swap the whole front end to the old style if I wanted to.

2001 Audi TT Roadster Quattro 225hp AWD 2000-2007. not enough room
1995 Subaru Legacy Outback AWD 1995-present. Not enough personality or power
1990 Mazda Miata 1990-2002. Perfect! My favorite till I got my MINI
1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II 1987-1990. Too expensive to maintain, 12mpg
1981 Suzuki GS1100x 1981-1986. Lived in NYC. Too expensive to keep a car.
1977 Honda Accord 1977-1981. Great car. FWD was fantastic at the time.
1966 VW Bug 1972-1977. $300. Easy to work on. A blast to drive.
1955 Ford Customline sedan 1969-1972 $50. My first car

Current car: 2007 MCS 3/07- till they come out with an AWD coupe or Fiat comes brings the 500 Abarth to US shores. Never thought I'd find a car I liked as much as the Miata...

Too many to list, but my last car was an '04 Hyundai Elantra GT. I got okay gas mileage but couldn't get out of it's own way...and broke down every 6 months.

Then I decided life was too short to drive crappy cars...

1983 - MGB - Could see the road under my feet (literally)
1985 - Datsun/Nissan 4x4 pick-up (I think this one was actually a Datsun)
1988- Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe (surprisingly nice car)
1990-1997 First Job after grad. "The Taurus Years" (probably drove 5-salesman...you know)
1998- RX-7 (Corporate job)

2002- Nissan Maxima (Left the corporate world)

1985 Honda Accord (beater)
1988 Nissan 200SX (nothing but electrical problems)
1987 Saab 900s
1989 Honda Prelude SI (2nd best car I ever owned after mini)
1972 Plymouth Valiant (Inherited, fun old car)
1995 Saturn SC2 (Transmission blew at 60k)
1994 Honda Civic EX
2004 Toyota Matrix XRS (fun car, but needed to rev too high to get power)
2005 Scion tC (very fun car, lots of torque. Not very comfortable)

The mini is so much better than any of these cars. I liked my Scion a lot, but getting older and don't like the low down seating as much anymore. I like to be able to sit up and be comfortable now.

The Prelude was awesome. I once took a 4 month, 30,000 mile, 38 state and some of Canada vacation in that car.

My wife will drive the '07 MCa that we just aquired. I drive an '06 Subaru Tribeca. The car the Mini replaces is a 1991 Mercury Capri that we bought brand new. The Capri is 16 years old and has less than 60k miles. Hope the Mini lasts as long.
