That's a big difference.

I've yet to order my R56 Cooper so I'm still enjoying my R50 Cooper. The funny thing is that my spec for the two will be virtually the same.

Every car I've owned to date has been a 1990. If I do end up getting the MINI, it will be my first new car.

1st. 1990 VW Jetta (Sold)
2nd. 1990 Mazda RX-7 (totalled, not at fault)
3rd. 1990 Mazda RX-7 Turbo (Fun, but time for something with a warranty)

My post isn't related to this thread but I was curious how you like your checkered upholstery? If you have any photos please post them - from what I could see using the MINI configurator it looked like it would make for a great interior.

99 honda CRV. Plan on keeping it as well. Much easier to haul stuff around town instead of the mini.

OK....try not to SNAP your jaw as you >yawn< at this one....

2004 Toyota Camry (SE V6).....

(interestingly enough, before I got my first MINI - The Wikked One - I never even CARED what kind of tires I put on a car, never modded any car AT ALL, did not care about performance figures etc......and then I got into a MINI and went from a >YAWN< Camry, to a SHOW CAR that has won trophies and featured in Magazines, with three sets of rims, special performance tires, modded to the hilt.........MINI will do that to ya! )

2001 VW Passat with 99K miles. Worst car we've ever owned in respect to repairs, recalls, and customer service (VW was horrendous). Good riddance and bring on the MC.

I haven't gotten rid of it yet, but a Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 is the car I won't be driving to work since I picked up my 07 MCS.

When I added a roll bar and fixed-back seats to Vader (R53 MCS/JCW) it got to be a pita for daily driving. At that time gas was over $3 so I got a 07 Honda Fit Sport. Nice car, very practical but every day is just screamed "I'm not a MINI" so I ordered my R56 even before you could 'officially' order and traded in the Fit when it arrived.

I liked the A3 (I had an A4 Avant and wanted a lighter more nimble car). Then I found out it weighed 3300lbs with FWD! What does Audi put in the car to make it so heavy? I understand that the quatro weighs a bit, but the standard A3 doesn't have it. So then it was wait until the R56 came out with the modern engine.

I would have preferred the more sedate A3 interior and the 4 doors, but the MCS scoots pretty well.

Haha Well I was ran off the road and struck 3 trees and a barbed wire fince with my 05 cooper S. Did $15k worth of damage but the engine still ran and 2 of the 3 passangers including myself walked away without a scratch so needless to say 5 days later when I found out Spike was totaled I ordered an R-56. She arrives in the us on the 29th and I should take delivery shortly after so in a little over a week. I am so excited.
