My 2nd test drive, to "tie me over"!

So I went up my local Mini dealership today to try and take an S w/17" runflats for a test drive, but they didn't have one. What they did have was the same car I took for the test drive 5 weeks ago though. Apparently it had some rough idling issues and she wanted me to take that one out for a test drive to see what I thought of it now that its been worked on. The first test drive was fine, the car performed great but this time it was much better due to the fact that its sunny and dry out. I took the car out a little longer than I did the first time and even got it washed for them, the car was pretty dirty. Oh yeah, about the car...UNBELIEVEABLE Even though I'd already driven this car it made me want it even more and those of you who have em' already, your a lucky bunch! The torque of the turbo is everywhere, even in 5th gear you really dont' need to downshift to pass anyone and the steering, its like "point and click", making you take simple turnarounds faster than you should, but in this car, YOU CAN! I'm really going to need to watch myself once I get the car, its so much fun to drive that you don't even realize how fast your going, even if the speedo is the size of paper plate, just simply awesome!! I've never driven a R53 so I can't comment on the differences between the two, but this car is EXACTLY what I've been looking for and other than my buddies EVO VIII putting down 300 whp, I can't think of any car that I've ever owned or driven that will make me look forward to the most basic of trips and will probably have me taking the longer route everywhere

BTW, when I got back my MA was blown away that I got the MCS washed, but then again she knows how I am with cars. Also, to make the experience even better, her boss was sitting at the table and I struck up a deal with her. I told her I ordered my car with the chrome exterior package but wanted the white mirror caps instead of the chrome ones that come in the package and she said they'd swap them out for me, icing on the cake and a true sign they want a completely satisified customer

You mean I should not have waxed the demo car before returning it to the dealer? Dang. No wonder my Wife looked at me like I was some kind of nutjob. I was just having so much fun I could not stop myself. hehe.

Just FYI, the phrase is "Tide me over" not "Tie me over.

You might want to reconsider keeping the chrome mirrors - I'd guess that someone with white would trade with you plus $$ since the chrome mirror caps are probably a more costly option. Maybe find out what buying them vs the white costs to know.

In any case, good that you enjoyed your drive and are looking forward to the new car

What eVal said. They'll "give someone a deal" on the chrome covers, which retail at $150

Sorry about the typo Now as far as the chrome caps go its just easier for me to just have them swap them out off of another Mini in the lot as it worth it to me. I want everything to match up right, white roof, white mirrors. One thing though, I wished I'd gotten the tailights with the clear turn signals though, again ties in with the white.
