just heard from my MA -- my MINI just got there! however, they're short handed this weekend so no delivery saturday :-( I have the option of either Monday or Wednesday to take delivery... and I will sadly have to wait until next wednesday to pick her up since i teach Monday evening and could never get there. this will most certainly be the longest week, since I know she's sitting at the dealer!!!! ... unless of course i can work something else out ... which would be super!

ahh, well, i am a lowly mc convertible, not an r56. I've been "along for the ride" with you all over here... well.. simply because i'm psyched for my first MINI and the cabrio forum just wasn't as psyched as you all were =) hope i'm havent been overstaying my welcome over here in R56 land! Either way i'm excited to be a part of the community, r56 or not.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't all 07s R56s?

Dont' worry MichelleN, I'm a lowly regular coop too.

Indeed! She is a Chili Red, Black top MC -- pretty bare bones as far as packages go: just cold weather. and multifunx steering wheel, can't live without that! Automatic also. She's my first "real" car purchase out of college and i had to keep it pretty low cost-wise. Either way, i'm extremely excited to finally have a car that i fell in love even before i decided to purchase =)

EDIT! i worked out a way to get out of work early friday and will be picking her up in TWO DAYS! smiles all around!!!

Anyone have any news of the Isolde? It is due in Panama tomorrow. I wonder if it is on schedule?

My wife similarly roles her eyes and wonders if you are all as strange as me. I assure her that you aren't. But she has developed an appreciation of what I've learned from NAM. When I picked the car up, I really knew what to look for and what to be concerned about.

She's never driven a manual transmission before, so we went out for driving lesson #1 last night. No stress on the relationship and she actually got on the public roads for many miles. The car and clutch are fine.

Is it still true that the CA VDC is still experiencing a typical 8+ backlog days?

Did you read that from the week 12 thread? "That could be old news by now"...said the man and his wishful thinking.

I don't think it's old news. Some members are reporting it's currently (April) taking about 2 weeks once the vessel lands til they take delivery.

Her due date in Panama hasn't changed. I wonder why she will be a day late to Hueneme? Perhaps she has to wait to go through the locks at Panama. I've heard of ships having to wait a week when a ship got stuck in one of the locks.

ISOLDE sighted

The ISOLDE is approaching the Christobal Anchorages (entrance to the canal).

http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...ama%20Overview

Looks pretty crowded. Probably is a wait for getting through the canal.
