R56 R56 Week 13 Production Group - What Luck!
can't wait. again i am expecting to pick up at Crevier MINI in So. Cal. my MA was very knowledgable. very pleased with transaction so far. (could have gone with Long Beach MINI for the same price but didn't feel that the MA's there were very interested in making a sale.) in fact he emailed me on monday to let me know that my JCW wheels were available if i wanted to pick them up first. my brother is a VW mechanic so he will install for me.

Anyway... That means your little buddy will have friends on the boat...
BOOKED - SOUTHAMPTON - 30/03/2007 09:51
Ok. So I was thinking. How much would you pay for MINI to take pictures of your car at each step of the production process and then @ the shipyeard, on the boat, VDC Etc. ? I think it would be a really cool thing and that MINI owners would be very interested. anybody?

Images of it sitting at the dock might be more upsetting than pleasing. Not sure I want to see my baby smeared with shipping wax and treated like just another commodity in a big ship. Probably not the image people would want to remember about their cars.
Integrity Update - The Integrity seemed to be making decent time across the pond. (What do I know about this?) But it hasn't reported its position in 2 days and the web site for the port says it is scheduled to arrive 1 day late at 18:00 on Tuesday. I don't know that I totally trust the information, but it seems correct to me. It could be that the ship isn't so much running behind schedule, but that the port doesn't have a berth available until Tuesday. We'll see...
Wouldn't you know that within 5 minutes of my last post, the Integrity's position updated. It looks like it has slowed down a bit - winds of 44 knots and 18 foot waves will do that. But very close to US shores.
Hello Production Week 13 Clan!
It appears I'm late into this thread, but from what I gather I'm a week 13'er too. My R56 was built March 29th, arrived at the hampt March 30th, loaded April 3rd (Maersk Wave, what a name!), due for arrival in California 24 April. We all nearly missed being the one-millionth mini too, shoot.
My wife thinks I'm crazy for obsessing as she calls it, but the phrase I use is "vastly interested in Miniorial acquisitions." Who am I kidding!
Does anyone know the location of the Maersky? I've tried going onto the AIS live website, but it keeps kicking me to the free trial sign-up page (which I've done already). I've read you can watch your ship go through the Panama Canal via webcam. I would love to do this, but think I may need some help figuring out how. Any help would be appreciated.
Happy Motoring and God Speed Maersky, you beautiful lady you. I look forward to watching it's safe passage with you all!
