Still in port??

If you folks will forgive me posting about my MCSC here in the coupe forum (can't find any Production Week 13 posts there), can someone tell me why my car is still there after arriving at Southampton on 3/29?

I'm really getting worried. What could be wrong? I'm not booked anywhere on WW site. The Customer Relations folks and my SA don't know anything.

Anybody else from week 13 still sitting at port?

cobra you are welcome here. how do you know that your car arrived at southampton. I have heard other people saying that WW is not the only shipping company MINI uses. So it may be possible that you are booked on a ship but not with WW.... I really hope that is the case.

Mine was booked on March 30th, received at the port on April 2nd, and just loaded on a ship today.

I think it leaves today. Due in Hueneme on the 30th.

I have a feeling we wont be able to track it on www.sailwx.info as it has not previously shown up on their trackings nor in their database of ships named ISOLDE.

Mine was built on March 27th, arrived at port on March 29th, and as far as I am able to tell, is not booked on any ship. At least not on any WW ship.

What ship line is your car on? I have heard they use other lines, but no way to track.

Is this so?

I am beginning to fear that my car is either lost or damaged.

Mine is on the ISOLDE.
For tracking did you go to this site:
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/
Select "Auto cargo" and put in your VIN?
If you don't have your VIN, you can get it from the MINI Owner's Lounge.
https://ol.miniusa.com/oe/home.asp?login:true
Track your MINI and then select Review Order Detail.
Edit: And I've also heard that shipping services other than WW are used and they cannot be tracked. Your dealer may have information on whether you car is on a ship or not.

So glad that most everyone's getting on ships. The Intrepid was scheduled to arrive NY today, but that's apparently been postponed to tomorrow - according to WW and the port web site. There's been no update at sailwx since Saturday. I continue to hope I might have my car next week.

jyarrow, I am also on the Integrity and I spoke to my MA tonight and he confirmed that the distribution center is expecting my car on 4-15-07 (1 day late in south carolina). He also said that they routinely receive the car 7-10 days after arrival at the distribution center.

With that said, yours should be in NY tomorrow and you should be living the dream in no time!

Just spotted the integrity on AISLive.com. It's south of Long Island heading toward the port. About time to put a call into my MA.

Thanks, Robin, but I have been using the site you mentioned, and my VIN keeps coming back as "No tracking info is available for the Cargo ID you entered."

So I guess all I can do is call Customer Relations every day and see if anything changes.

Good luck with your car, hope you get it sooner than expected.

It looks like the Integrity is still in New York Harbor. The WW site has not started to update with cars being unloaded. Hopefully it will do that in the same way that it chronicled the loading process.

Well, today, the Customer Relations guy told me my car is was shipped on the 4th. The OL still says Awaiting Transport.

So cars get on boats without warning, trust me. I looked at the schedules, and believe my car is on the Emden, which is more than halfway across.

Due into Charleston on the 15th.

What a relief.

Discharged!

My car has been discharged from the Integrity at 18:00 today. In fact, all of the cars (about 200) destined for NY are listed as discharged at that time. Who else is with it?

I'm sure it's thrilled to be back on dry land. It only has about a 4 hour drive to the dealer. How quick can it happen? I'm actually in Philadelphia for work so I have the urge to slip up there to see it.

DISCHARGED NEW YORK, NY 10/04/2007 18:00

It has to have time to get its land-legs and have all the barnacles removed. Then go through Customs, makes sure there are no terrorists aboard, get its physical, and see that it has it shots for smallpox and typhoid...

Could take 5-10 days to clear the VDC.

Hopefully Homeland Security won't have to be too involved to get my MINI into the country and they won't need to do a background check on me. Isn't the UK about our biggest ally that's left??? I realize the engine is French, but show the MINI some love.

The ISOLDE is not trackable on http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html#search

Anyone know of other ways to track it?

I just spoke with my MA who confirmed that my car is at the VDC. He said that it should be there early next week. But he won't know when it will be there until it arrives. I won't be able to obsessively check the sailwx or WW sites now. Just wait.

I'm worried that I'll have to let it sit there for a week since we have a huge event at work next weekend and I need to be here to prepare. The dealer is over 3 hours from me, so I'll need to be away for at least a day to get it. Here's hoping it comes by Monday!

Have you tried ASLIve? I tried using it myself with no luck, but other people seem to have great success with it.

Subscribing is free and easy. It only works when ships are near a port they cover. It does not work out in the open ocean. Charleston is not covered, but your west coast port (that I cannot spell) is.
