R56 The Official Nightfire Red Owners Club
Yay! The dealer called today and said I would be picking up my brand new Clubman this Friday after work. I'm hoping that everything will go smoothly. I've been debating back and forth if I should get the extended warranty or any of the other "extras" they pack on at the end of a sale. Any advice?
Additional good news: I was able to sell my Hyundai last night... sadly I only sold it for $1250... which I think I'm going to put towards pre-paying my insurance for awhile.

The glasses are clean and the bottle is ready to open!
Uh,..well,..yeah,..that is true for any given Friday, Saturday, Humpday, or any other excuse I can come up with to make with the silly, slurry talk.

No slurpees for me - - too cold here today for that.
Give me a large Tim's with double cream, please!
Looking forward to Spring - any day now - PLEASE!!
Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking here since before I ordered my MINI (last May) so I don't really feel like a newcomer.
BTW, the MINI is a great car for our wonderful Canadian winter climate, if anyone out there was wondering. Put on a cheap set of 15" steelies and some good snow tires and you can go anywhere. All the electronic traction goodies really work with the snows to get you through the deep snow and ice that we here in Canada seem to cheerfully put up with for 4 or 5 months of the year.
Thanks again for the welcome!
A peeper! EEEEEEK! Listen to carjoy,..she'll set your hair on fire and toss you a bucket of gasoline to put it out with.
Although, I do like a good barbeque myself.
You're just lucky you are NFR.
Someone wipe dennisd's forehead,...STAT!!

Shhhh....this is delicate work delivering a NFR.
But, as a side note, I totally agree with 33 on the winter status. I've never had a car so good on the ice & snow...you just need to have those ugly winter tires with the grip on them!

I need a chair without arms so I can still deliver those NFR's...and I think it was last June's trip to Texas & Arizona that pissed me off....I didn't want to come back to our winters! Do you blame me? Today it's still - 33!
Man, what a weird day it was picking up my new car. I was nervous and excited going to the dealership... went with my friend on BART (bay area rapid transit for you non-CA folks) after work and the MA picked me up at the last stop. We drive in to the dealership and he says, "Look, there's your car!" and I'm like "that's not my car."
I saw a Nightfire Red Clubman... but there were no bonnet stripes. :( Put me in an instant bad mood. The dealership made up for it and I'll get my stripes on Monday... but it wasn't the first impression I was hoping for. I had to go through all the rest of the paperwork to make sure that nothing else was missing from my order.
I felt better by the end of the night, but I was tired and it was late. (To top it off my insurance company wants to charge me more than my car payment for insurance every month... so I told them that I wasn't going to be their customer anymore).
Now that I've got to drive the Clubman for a little roadtrip today, I think me and the car have bonded
I'm just absolutely paranoid that it's going to get damaged somehow... or that I'm going to put too many miles on it.
Anyhow, meet LISTER (yes, I changed its name... that doesn't screw up your database, does it?):
A bit naked without his stripes
