Mood Lighting - Question

Is the color in the door panel meant to match the overhead?

Hmmm...
Can anyone post pictures of their mood lights (when they're on at night of course)?

Thanks to MINI ME GB for the pic.. (I can't seem to get a good pic of mine, unless I find a really really dark place.. though driving in the dark even with street lights you can see it nicely.

You can't see the door panel lights though since the spot he shot it at isnt in view.

Anyone find a way to turn the mood light OFF? I kinda like the color, but I find the two light sources above a bit annoying. I'd like to see what it's like without it.

Just make them orange? They will match your dash color then and it shouldnt be as noticeable?

Woo Hoo

Thanks for the pic with the instrument lights illuminated. I just found another reason to like Mini.
I like driving at night and I keep the instrument lights dimmed down low. Everytime you glance at the gauges it takes your eyes time to adjust. The brighter the interior, the dimmer the exterior. With the speedo over in the middle there is less light in the driver's line of sight. Less eye fatigue. Very nice!

Same question as MiniMoMir - can the mood lights be turned off?

And can the instrument panel lights be dimmed in the R56?

I've not found a way to turn the mood lighting off, but the panel lights can be dimmed by the button in the bottom left of the rev counter.

Some in my gallery (after page 3).

Not all the clours are exact matches between the B pillars and the overhead console.

I only have blue door-handle lights. The B pillar and overhead will go to the other colors, though.

Oh, and that photo above is apparently a long exposure. The effect isn't nearly that dramatic in my car, but I've got the anthracite headliner, so that would make the B pillar seem less bright.

I thought I only had blue in the door panel, but when I tried it last night, the doors changed as well. The only difference was that this time I went through the colours more slowly. The door panels definitely take a lot longer to change color.

I like the mood lighting. Only wish the dash changed with the rest of it. How cool would it be to have blue dash lights? I suspect the mood lighting is tied into some other circuit, but if it is separate, you could disable it by removing the appropriate fuse.
