Some are using plasti-dip / spray paint.

We offer OEM parts wrapped in vinyl.
Check us out: www.vinylstyles.com

Bruinjustin, many of us buy vinyl wrapped parts from Lyle at

(that's my car that comes up first!). Lyle's work is first rate!

So how does this work?
Is it self installation or do they install for you?
If it is self install, how hard is it to remove those parts and wrap with vinyl?
Is there installation guide comes with it?

If you are close to Lyle, he will install for what I assume would be an installation fee. Lyle does have conditions to come to you but that usually entails at least 10 people ordering two pieces apiece, or.... You order the pieces you want, he sends them to you wrapped and you install, sending your originals back. He charges a "Core Charge" that is refunded upon receipt of your original pieces. So far, installation of side markers, front and real light bezels and gas cap cover have been painless for me. Lyle has videos to help. Note, the belt line is actually something you have to install being a precut vinyl tape that goes over your beltline chrome. I fear any more answers will have to come from Lyle. You can call him.

Sooner than later. I'm resting from spending all that I have so far and saving up for HelenBlitz at the end of February.

Thanks guys. Its on a 1.4 inch H&R drop with spacers to fill the wheel gap. I used Plasti-Dip on everything, what else Not to knock vinyl, but I wouldn't spend that kind of cash to do what plastidip will do just as well, and faster. And, it can also be touched up if needed.

I find all the "blacking out" of "bright" trim interesting. I guess every style is cyclical. I am old enough to remember the trend when it was very popular back in the late 70's. It certainly gives the Mini a different look. Fortunately the technology for accomplishing the look is much better today. That said, it's not for me - I still like the chrome look.

LMAO! The late 70's?? The lead sledders were doing it in the early 50's! Cyclical indeed.

couple more questions about "black out" chromes:'

Where do you get plastic dip and how durable are those compare to vinyl?

I am right with you there on the Vinyl vs. Plastidip, I mean if I had the money to wrap all the chrome I would do it in a heartbeat (if there was nothing else left to do on the car ) Also what size spacers did you use? The drop and spacers will probably be next on my list! Thanks

You ain't wrong about silly $$$$. I recently found out that Recaro seat option on a Euro JCW is about $4500. YIKES!!
