At least for pre-'11, the MCS and MC grilles weren't the same shape, nor the same connections. You can't just slap an MCS grill on an MC (hence, an MC specific JCW grill), so I was wondering if he had to do any trimming, which specific car it came from ('11 MC maybe?), etc.

I bought the grill off ebay, came off a 2007+ justa, don't remember the year. It was chrome, I painted it black. Before I painted it, I had to dremel off a few tabs, most of them don't even clip in, except for the longer ones. The important part is that the top holes match the S holes, which is what you use to attach it to your car. The bottom tabs aren't as important.

I then bought the JCW(black) grille trim for the justa slated grill. I had to dremel about an inch on the inside of the corners(you can't see it when it's mounted).

It took me several re-fittings to get it to sit correctly and evenly.

I also highly recommend drilling in holes or slots between the slates as they don't let much air pass through.

Thanks for the explanation... I figured it took some modification to do.

I have a MCS front end being installed on my Cooper (not exactly what I wanted... long story), and this made me think maybe a Cooper Grill would make it look a little less like I was trying to make my Cooper look like an S. Then again, if I wanted people to think my car was an S, I should have bought a color that wasn't Cooper only.
