Do you think I could use the same paste wax I use for the car? Also, any tips on removing old brake dust? I bought them from another Mini owner who did take pretty good care of them but there are a few spots here and there where there is old brake dust that doesn't come off with the mitt.

Before I got the car I was thinking of getting the black our grill edge but now I am thinking about getting the chrome line lower grill to make both top and bottom have chrome and possible the chrome line rear grill(I did not get the package because I did not want the mirror caps or the thing above the rear plate). My wife and I just put the boot stripes on and I think we got them lined up.
Yeah I know what you mean about the boot handle. Non-Ss come standard with chrome so I had to paint it black. If it was body color I would have probably kept it that way

for old brake dust, or brake dust that works its way through the wax, I recommend using an all-wheel cleaner. Eagle One makes some really good, tough products. Go to town with a brush and that stuff, and you should be able to get it all off, unless there's some deep pitting.
Be sure to wax after using that stuff though, it strips most of your protection. Also, make sure what you buy is clear-coat friendly, if your wheels have a clear coat.

Yea, any wax will do.

Best thing I've used on old brake dust and wheels in general is a Mr. Clean magic eraser, it will get off anything if you use enough elbow grease and can be used on any surface w/o worry.
^AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
NO MAGIC ERASER EVER!!!
Seriously though, magic eraser essentially is a very light version of wet sanding. A friend and I removed his painted on pin-stripes with it once because we didn't feel like running out to the store and actually getting sand paper.
Never use it on a painted surface, never use it on Leather, and use it VERY sparingly everywhere else. It can be great for scuffs and stuff that just doesn't come off, but use it very sparingly.
When it comes down to it, use elbow grease. Any product that makes things seem too easy, usually is doing damage.

Shawn with new wheels and tires. The wheels/tires are probably going to be reserved for the track once I get them broken in.

The anthracite colour quite suits Shawn's Dark Silver, the wheels are a little aggressive looking for my tastes.

I decided on a slightly tamer dunlop(sp sportmaxx), they still have the stiffer sidewall though.
My initial impression is the ride is pretty good, better than the DS-G3s, they're noisy though by a couple of dB. Its a nasty low frequency thrum.
Finished putting on the clear bra a couple of days ago, installed on the hood, "bonnet", front bumper, grill, headlights, front part of the roof, a-pillars, mirrors, door edges, rear bumper lip, sill plates, and also cut some pieces about the same shape as the magnetic stone guards and placed on fenders in front of rear wheels, also installed front and rear spash guards.
Gave her a good coat of TW Ice paste today and she polished up really nice.
Full sized images are in my gallery if you would like a closer look

Paddyli,
Very nice, a guest lapping day with your local club or open lunch laps?
What preparation have you done to your MINI?
Looks very nice.

Generally a very sharp looking Mini, except that it appears to be cross-eyed
nice combination w/ the JCW skirts, color matched arches, grill surround, & Hamann (?) front bumper
