MCS CR/B w/ white stripes??

What's everyones opinions on how this would look?

It looks like my car came in tonight...but instead of black stripes it has white stripes on the bonnet... still has black roof/mirrors...

It was dark out.. it seemed to look ok.. but I need to see it in the light.. not quite sure if I like it or not.

I plan to put black/white checkers on the sunroof.. not sure if this ties it in or not so much...

thoughts?

I didn't think you could get white stripes with a black roof...

If you get the stripes that come with the Sport package, they have to be the same color as the roof. Not saying you couldn't get them aftermarket, though...

I'm sorry...let me clarify... they came this way from the factory... I have no idea how it happened... but it did.

I have a black roof/mirrors but white stripes on the hood... unless I'm just totally off my rocker and confused white with black last night

Check your order. If they messed up at the dealership (Bonnet stripes are installed at the dealership, I'm pretty sure), make them remove them and install the black stripes ! It's your money, make sure they fix it.

Ps. Don't call that thing covering the engine compartment a "hood", you'll get excommunicated from the board if you keep that up.

I think these must have been done at the VDC... I visited the overflow parking lot for the dealer on my home at like 9:30...truck had just dropped them off.

I can't decide if I like it or not...it's definitely unique. Also...I've been without a car for 10+ days now in anticipation of having the car at launch day.

If you ordered them as black, make an arrangement with the dealer to "try" the white stripes out if you think you may want them. It should not make a difference to the dealer whether they replace them now or later.

I think black stripes will look better, but maybe you can get us a picture?

yeah, before you accept the car, snap a picture in the daylight and post it here. you'll get plenty of opinions.

sounds like it might be cool.

but, if you have any doubts, have them remove them and put on the black stripes. it is apparently pretty easy for them to do.

kinda strange that the factory or VDC would let that happen though. it's a pretty obvious mistake, if that's what it is.

Normally I don't post to these opinion threads as everyone's taste is different and the only real person that needs to be happy with it is you.

inomis though has come up with a very tidy solution to your quandary! I think that this is your best bet.

For what its worth here's my .02 - I also think that the black stripes look better with your color combo (CR/B).

Good luck on whatever you choose to do!

Dealer hooked me up with a loaner over the weekend while they redo the stripes and put on some checkers/tint.

I didn't see it during the day so I can't say whether it looked hideous or not in the sunlight.. My MA (who is great by the way (Thanks LIZ at Baron) didn't feel it was a good look so off it goes.

Can't wait for Monday...but now since I have a loaner R53 MC...the pain is tolerable

I ended up gambling with this and left the white stripes as is on the car... added on a checkered black/white vinyl top over the sunroof...

LOOKS GREAT!

I'll get pics up hopefully Tues

The checkers on the roof should even everything out, congrats on coming up with a solution that works

Yep, came out looking good ! And I've been looking for a pic of a CR MINI with just the sunroof checkered... thanks ! Now if we can just get you to size your pics properly.

Looks like you live in SUV World, or something. Blech !
