VIN to VDC

Any guess on the time it takes from the point at which you get your VIN /"is scheduled for production" to the VDC??????:impatient :impatient By the way I'm located in Easton, PA(dealer outside of Philly), so I would guess it would be the Newark,NJ VDC??

depends where you are. If you are US then please review the "how to track your MINI" thread - I think it's in the General Interest(?) section.
My personal experience was -- I got my VIN about a week befor production and fron the start of production until it reaches VDC should be a total of 14 days. Mines is going to NY.

My Prod started on the 8th.. and doesnt reach VDC until 2/3. I dont think 14 days is a very good estimate.

That's about 21 days total and that seems ballpark. I got my VIN on the 13th and it looks like the car will be at VPC NJ on 2/2.

My production finished the 17th was on a boat the 20th and it's 9 days to the port in NY -- I'm assuming the VDC is at the port.
If that seems short or inacuurate well what can I say. Unless I have been give wrong info from askMINI and the resources mentioned here for tracking delivery -- then that is accurate.

The VDC isn't quite at the port. They've got to get them off the ship and take them to the VDC, which is a BMW facility.

There's a thread here regarding the Port Hueneme facility in California.

I still added 2 days for time from port to VDC. The NYC port is technically in Jersey City, NJ that VDC is in Newark. I believe and the VDC is Newark (a bordering city) for PA. Again I stand by what I said.
What does it matter anyway?
Whether they sit in a lot for an additional 3 weeks at the port or in a lot at the VDC for 3 weeks?
The original question was how long does it take to get from recieving a VIN to getting to the VDC.

Very true, I'm just being a nitpicker.

Well, that and I thought the old thread on the VDC in California had some neat pictures.

Since you got on a boat early, it might be quicker.

I got my VIN on the 17th (or was it the 19th?) it's the 25th and in transit as of today according to AskMINI. So that burned 8 days right there, headed toward South Carolina. No info on the WW site for my VIN though...

I recevieved my VIN on 1-6-07. My MSCc was finished with production on 1-15-07 but sat around until 1-18-07 before being loaded on a boat. The ship is scheduled to arrive in NY, NY on 1-27-07. I presume it will be at the VDC shortly thereafter and in upstate NY at the dealership shortly after that. BMW is not holding up delivery of cabrios as they are other 2007 models based upon what my MA told me.

My salesman just told me that the cars they are expecting won't leave the VDC until 17Feb and he expects them around the 20th.
