I've been looking for an r53 for awhile and have utilized http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html for awhile. For the past couple of weeks it seems to have stopped working. And now when you click on it, it redirects to another site.

Does anyone know of another site that can help give me build information via the VIN? (trying to confirm LSD, and options like that.)

Thanks! That worked! I think. I punched in a VIN and it stated the car had LSD which it may or may not. But it also said the roof of the car is the same as the body color as well as the mirros. The actual roof is white which is diff then the body color.

Is this thing accurate? Can someone else punch in their VIN and give me a thumbs up/down?

I meant that the site that BMW archive redirected to seemed to work. It doesn't seem to work properly on my iPhone though. I'll try it on the computer again later.
