07 r56 miare tire /runflats

can anyone answer me this---If i select the standard 15 inch wheels/ tires on the 07 R56 MC ( no runflats) will i get a spare wheel/tire?. I read that the MCS model will have the runflats because the battery takes the place of the spare, but what about the standard MC. will i get a donut or will i have to carry a fix a flat kit.

My understanding is the Cooper comes with a compact spare mounted under the rear. In the R53 the the battery was in this spot, so run-flats came on the S with no spare. In the R56 the battery is up front, but the straight through exhaust path goes straight through the space where a spare might fit, so the R56 MCS is run-flats again.

So your 07 R56 MC - yes comes with a compact spare.

In the UK the non runflat models get an emergency tyre inflation kit and not a spare wheel and tyre. Not sure if this is the same in the US.

One of the people posting photos from the Detroit show has an undercarriage of the MC where you can see the spare - so I'm guessing that yes it comes with a spare.

Photo attached - I apologize as I can't remember whose photo this was to give credit.

Thanks to you all for the information, since I am of the "old" mini era I only feel confortable with having a genuine spare, even if it is a donut, and I dont have to spend the out of sight replacment $$$ for the runflats.
