Has anyone heard whether Mini dealers will be holding a sneak preview party the night before the official R56 rollout?

In the U.K., existing Mini owners and those who placed orders for the new car received fancy invite kits in the mail and each dealer held a party to show off the new cars the day before they could start selling them.

 

I have not heard a thing yet

 

My dealer told me they're having one on Feb 15th.

 

I hope my dealer is having one. Sounds like alot of fun International mini is my dealer in WI.

 

My SM said there will be an intro party the 16th - he said he thinks we'll get invites via email. (my MA is on vacation)
He also said people who ordered will get a call when thier car gets to the distribution center but that they will not be distributing any until after the 17th. He said they are getting 10 cars -- that includes ordered cars -- and then will they'll get more after that.

 

So they aren't releasing the ordered cars for transportation to the dealers until the 17th???

That seems odd...would think they'd want them there for the release that day.

 

Don't know for sure -- I don't think my Sales Manager or my MA knows yet. Does it matter really if it's the 17th or the 18th? For me I'll be happy either way. I would like it tomorrow but that isn't going to happen.

 

I wasnt told anything when I ordered my car yesterday. Ill have to email my MA and ask on Monday. Sounds like fun!

 

When I ordered my car, my MA said they would be having a VIP party for anyone who has placed an order, to take place around mid Feb.

 

This depends upon the dealer. Mine had an open day but anyone could attend just be walking in. There was nothingreally special about it apart from the lack of knowledge of the R56 by the sales people.

Other dealers had proper VIP parties on the evning before launch, mini did not sponsor any of these so it's down to the individual dealerships.

 

unfortunatley it isn't really the sales peoples fault... MINI has been so darn tight lipped about things... and they keep changing there mind on what they are going to do as far as release dates etc... that its tough to say anything is for certain. Just look at the white turn signal indicators for example. WHo would have thought MINI would go back on there pricing after they had already released it.

 

I spoke with my MA this afternoon and they just decided to throw a party this morning. Its slated for Feb 21st.

It was changed.

They originally were going to host something on the 16th, but postponed it so they could include some big whigs from MINI USA who will be visiting the dealership on the 21st.

 

I still find it interesting that they sent out boxed invitations to buyers and current owners in the U.K. and had coordinated previews scheduled before their November rollout but aren't doing anything similar here.

 

I just e-mailed my dealer Towne, in Buffalo NY, no rollout party BUT!!!!! the last line of his e-mail cassually states "stop in monday afternoon after the auto show closes we will have a cooper, and a cooper s that you can test drive" The auto show he's refering to is the Buffalo auto show that closes 2/11, that monday 2/12 the cars will be available to test drive, I assume anyone will be able to test drive. He said that these 2 cars arrived 2/2/07 at the dealer and were destined for the auto show I think....

 

East Bay MINI is having their rollout on the 23rd. I plan on being there to get a "feel" for the R56 and to schedule a test drive.

Not really a roll out party. But there are a BUNCH of 07 MINI's in Arizona right now for the US Press release - tomorrow!!

It says the event is at F1 Boston, which is an indoor go-kart racing track, but my MA has informed me that the event may be moved to Gillette Stadium to accomodate more people and allow test drives of the R56! How great is that??

I will be attending both. :D

 

US Military sales, MINI, in Kaiserslautern Germany is having theirs March 3 and 4

I'm invited, of course...

 

I was told Moritz (Arlington, Texas) would be having a party/open house towards the end of February/early March. It will be announced on metroplexMINI.org.

 

Yea havnap on metroplexmini stated a big announcement regarding the event would be around Feb 14th - 15th =]

*twiddles fingers* can't wait!

 

I can't believe it, but MINI of The Woodlands, Texas, is NOT having a celebration. Something about cost-cutting, which is about as short-sighted as it comes...

Oh well, maybe people will stop and look while I receive my keys that week.

 

I thought the same thing! But, I cant complain, my MA called me yesterday to tell me that I may have my car before the rollout party now. I can live with that!
