They're Here

Spotted on the Cross-Bronx on monday afternoon was a brand new, yellow R56 MC. I was able to snap three quick photos with my camera phone (that's why they look so crappy) before being spotted by the passenger. The car was on manufacturer plates. To all of those waiting for theire R 56's; it's here and you'll get yours in couple of weeks.

Just noticed the Jersey plates. Probably from the home office? Do the Dist. Center employees get MINIs as a job perk? Think I read that somewhere -- maybe it was in referrence to factory employees?

jmelrose: I too am waiting for my production number. What makes it worse is I was originally told I'd get one within three days of placing my order. My MA (who is harder to get a hold of than the President) got my hopes way up and then dashed them.

take a look at the second picture. the muffler on the non s is the same as on the R53, but the cutout for the s is there. it looks odd, kindof like it's missing something. the way they had it on the R53 was much better

It is missing something--- that is where the rear fog goes on the MC.

you're tight but if you opt out of the rear fog light it actually looks like it's missing something back there.

yeah it does.
No doubt someone will find a good use for it. Planter? Gerbil cage? Flame thrower?

But at least you can order it. Here in Oregon, the rear fog is too low to the ground. Breaks the law and can't be ordered. Drive a foreign one into our state and they'll lock you up for two years. And sell your Mini to the highest bidder.

Hey, some may say that the rear fog lights belongs up in the tail light section, and that the back up light belongs down there . But I am not starting that...
