They're Here

Spotted on the Cross-Bronx on monday afternoon was a brand new, yellow R56 MC. I was able to snap three quick photos with my camera phone (that's why they look so crappy) before being spotted by the passenger. The car was on manufacturer plates. To all of those waiting for theire R 56's; it's here and you'll get yours in couple of weeks.

NiCE!!!!
That's the color combo I have on order! Looks nice in the real world - if you can call the Cross-Bronx the real world.:impatient

Just noticed the Jersey plates. Probably from the home office? Do the Dist. Center employees get MINIs as a job perk? Think I read that somewhere -- maybe it was in referrence to factory employees?

Holy F@#$ing S@#T... when am I getting mine???? Awaiting transport!!! Argh.

JohnBLZ Jan 17, 2007 06:47 PM

Awaiting transport for 8 days now :(

jmelrose Jan 17, 2007 07:34 PM

could be worse. Awaiting production number here. Count your blessings. :-)

The Short Bus Jan 17, 2007 07:37 PM

Those are massive foglight holes and side markers!

spykdpunch Jan 17, 2007 07:41 PM

jmelrose: I too am waiting for my production number. What makes it worse is I was originally told I'd get one within three days of placing my order. My MA (who is harder to get a hold of than the President) got my hopes way up and then dashed them.

take a look at the second picture. the muffler on the non s is the same as on the R53, but the cutout for the s is there. it looks odd, kindof like it's missing something. the way they had it on the R53 was much better

camminich Jan 18, 2007 10:41 AM

Were you in your MINI, did you get a wave?

MichalKub Jan 18, 2007 11:48 AM

No I wsn't, but the passanger wwasved after I flashed him my key.

It is missing something--- that is where the rear fog goes on the MC.

you're tight but if you opt out of the rear fog light it actually looks like it's missing something back there.

designerMINI Jan 18, 2007 08:29 PM

yeah it does.
No doubt someone will find a good use for it. Planter? Gerbil cage? Flame thrower?

Sowellman Jan 18, 2007 09:51 PM

But at least you can order it. Here in Oregon, the rear fog is too low to the ground. Breaks the law and can't be ordered. Drive a foreign one into our state and they'll lock you up for two years. And sell your Mini to the highest bidder.

designerMINI Jan 18, 2007 11:47 PM

:mad::lol::eek:another reason for the flamethrower!!!!

camminich Jan 19, 2007 05:14 AM

Hey, some may say that the rear fog lights belongs up in the tail light section, and that the back up light belongs down there :). But I am not starting that...

rec Jan 19, 2007 05:28 AM

here's the arse end of my MC... shows you the rear bumper a little better. i think the light on the pics above hide a lot.
