If so post them here....

I know mini2 has a bunch of the alloy and piano black. Both nice choices, but I'm wondering if I should spring for the extra 200 bones for piano black.

From what I've seen, the checkerboard dash will be a dealer option. I haven't seen any indication that it will be available from the factory as part of the build. That means you will have install costs as well as the cost of the dash, so your price will most likely be higher than the dash options available from the factory.

I'm not talking about the one where it's a decal. There is a default silver dash that has a faint and small checkerboard pattern on it. I'm still trying to dig a pic up. Stay tuned.

EDIT:

Mini2 boards came through for me:

If I'm not mistaking from what I"ve read that dash surface is the standard surface in all cars unless you order piano black or something like that.

Ahh... I know what you are talking about fjork. I had completely forgotten about the standard dash on the Cooper S since I have my heart set on the Aluminum Alloy.

The detail is a little more clearly seen on this one:

Ralston Purina Dashboard

Reminds me of an old Ralston Purina checkerboard square cereal box. Far too busy for my taste, but to each his own I say! I still can't get a handle on what "piano black" brings to the dashboard. There's some kind of "aluminum" overlay available for the dash? And a wood veneer? Is that like an "engine turned" look with the aluminum overlay? I like that idea, but my experience with some of these thin aluminum veneers is that they can DENT/SCRATCH pretty easy, and once that's done, (particularly the dent) you'll just have to live with it. The aluminum is what I'm planning on going with, just to keep the car subtle. My driving technique (or lack thereof) will attract enough attention.
I'm looking at that checkerboard dash again. Wow, I feel like I've had three double shots of tequila now! (SPINNING)
All the above comments are meant in good humor. The fact that so many people deck their Minis out so differently from one another is what makes it interesting and fun!

Hmm... with godzilla's post I'd have to say the dash seems a bit busy with the checker pattern. I think I may go for the piano black or alloy metal whatever that's going to be. It would be worth it.

I wonder if piano black would scratch easily...
