I recently picked up this distressed 2012 R56 with only 65K miles from a local dealer; the car was headed for auction; I got the car for $1800.00 (don't ask how much tax, tag, and title cost ... Sheesh!). The car is up and running again; and it runs well. It was the victim of no maintenance; spark plug gap (suspect the plugs were never changed) was at .070" ... no wonder she was misfiring. Anyway, this is my first Gen 2 Cooper S to my collection, and I was wondering what equipment is supposed to be in the hatch; it only has a jack in a small bag, and that's not secured. The tow ring is missing too, but I don't know where it's supposed to be stored. I see the depression in the hatch floor panel where the Justa cars have their tire change equipment. Please post a pic of what equipment I'm supposed to have and how it's supposed to be stored. Thks!
Jack tow hooks all that should be under the floor hatch. I can post picture later.
09 has a cut out for jack & other bits under the the floor in hatch, blocked in to lift lid.
Those has issues unburnt oil on valves plugged PVC valve part of valve cover I use sea foam to try clean unburnt oil!
I just realized we might have different tool kits. I dont have a screwdriver. But the two things I can tell that are missing from yours are the wheel chock and the spare tire hoist tool.
Until yesterday, I wouldn't have known what that "wheel hoist tool" was for. But I dropped the spare to work on the rear bumper (pull out the reverse / stop light, and prep it for paint) and then I had the joy of wrestling it back into place. I got it on my floor jack and managed to finally "hit the blind bullseye", but it wasn't fun. My kit's missing the wheel chock and the tire tool. I often just buy a (cheap) spare breaker bar and leave a socket on it, but I don't really have a whole lotta real estate inside the back of this project car... so I may have to look for the real deal (I'm thinking junkyard would be my best option).
