Pump was missing on ABS Module

Hello everyone, I picked up a sweet R57 for the wife with 21K Miles on it. (I figured more exposure in the R56 section) The older gentleman that I bought it from got scammed so he sold it to me for "cheap". I knew it would neet an ABS module as the $30 scanner I had in my pocket told me so. Well the deal went through, the car is nice, I just changed out the emission leak pump and cleared the CEL. Drove for about 20 miles and no codes. So I figured i'd take a look at the ABS module under the hood. Well, here's where the previous owner got scammed. Whoever looked at or jacked with the car, took the pump off the ABS module and that's it. So I know I need a whole new module assembly. I figured about $3K for the pump/module when I was negotiating with the previous owner. My Questions are several:

Where is the best place online to purchase a new ABS Module/Pump? I want to buy new, but my brother-in-law told me to look into refurbished units, is it worth the risk?
I am assuming that the module is not a simple plug and play, meaning the new module probably needs to be coded to the car. so another question is, what scan/diagnostic tool will allow me to read/clear codes and perform ABS bleed, as well as code the module to the car? I am no way near professional-grade mechanic, but I am wondering if this is a shade tree doable endeavor or if I should just drop my drawers and take into an indy shop that knows thee cars?
I really would like to have a decent scan tool though.

Thank you in advance for any help you can guide me to.

Thanks

Thats the unit new: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...34516798847kt/

This is the repair kit: https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...h/34526798848/

Their is no real aftermarket for these, most get the rebuild kit. Its the one half. New whole or half new and then take to MINI dealer to get flashed after install.

Could get used ones but dont know the shape. Near the same model and options. You have DSC. Rebuilt aftermarket, never used on of those.

If you're looking for a good scan tool that can read/clear codes, perform ABS bleed, and program the ABS module (online programming), I have successfully programmed my '09 R56 ABS module with this tool.

I have two brand new, unopened units that are leftover samples from SEMA 2023. If you're interested, IM me; the price is $1200 (normal retail price is $1899.00).

what did you end up doing with this issue? A new part and install in Delaware in Dec 2025 was $3100. The tech said I could buy one on ebay for $200-300 range, however, it would have to be coded to my car/Vin number. This tech said he didnt have the software to code it and said to replace it myself and tow it to Mini to have them code it.
