Abs control module question

I'm needing to replace my brake module, I ordered a used module from a local auto salvage yard. The part that they sent me and claim is the right one for my vehicle is not the same as the one I pulled off but has all the same ports. My question is can I use it as a replacement, I know that with a new module I will have to code it to the car. Here are pictures of each module. The DSC is the one that we off my car the ASC is the one they sent me.

DSC and ASC are different systems, and I don't believe you can code a used module to the car. Like many of the modules on these cars they are single VIN registry.

That's what i was thinking with the ASC DSC but I figured I'd check before I talked to the place I bought it from. If the only option is to buy a new one to code is there anywhere that rebuilds the DSC module? I tried module masters but was told they dont work on my module. Looking to save money as the new modules aren't cheap

I beg to differ...ALL modules can be recoded and re-vinned with the exception of the DME/CAS...they are paired together.

I speak of personal experience, not second hand

what is the issue with your original module?

I'm getting a faulty reading from my front left wheel speed sensor. Code is 5D8C - DSC wheel speed sensor supply, front left. I've swapped the sensor and even checked the reading with the sensor unplugged and it stays at 158 mph no matter what I do. only thing left that I could figure out is the module is bad.

Oh i remember you posting about that issue in another thread...well, if you get the right ABS module, then you need to use WinKfp and NCSexpert.

Sorry you can't swap ASC and DSC modules it won't work.

Not all modules can be recoded to a different car. BUT good news is the ABS modules can be recoded and used in a different car. So if you get the right DSC module you can do it.

Update, finally got the salvage yard to send me the right module (apparently mine is off a 2006 model) and got it installed and plugged in. All the wheel speed sensors are now working correctly. Now I just have to figure out how to program this thing
