Front wiper only works in washer mode. R56 Diesel

Hi

(this tread has been posted under 3. generation by my mistake earlier )

I have a MINI COOPER D MINI-N 2007 D (HDI)

Wipers wipes 3 times when I use the washer,

The rain sensor, step one and two, is dead ?

When I drive the car I us the washer to wipe the window

I have changed relays I and II and tryed a new junction box. The RLS looks ok too.

The floor on Drivers side is wet (LHD) ?

Can it be the control unit (BUS operation handle) ?

Happy for all input

ECSTuning responded earlier :

My guess is either the wires, clock spring handle itself (easy to swap out with new clock spring) or the footwell module

But since the floor is wet my guess is the footwell module and its shorted. End.

I checked the footwell module, and it looks dry and ok. Is the wiring a common problem ? I yes, what is the problem ? Connectors ?

Check the connection at the main plug and the footwell module. They can corrode. Also you will have to open up the footwell module to see if anything shorted on the board.

Hi

The print/board looks like new, no sign of corrosion. I also checked the junction box. Also looks like new also.

Where is the main plug located ?

Yep you can check that also, most of the time its water on the connection comb plug or the board itself. Take the board and open it up and compare against the pics.

Ok if thats fine then you will have to get a voltmeter and test the wires if you are getting power. If you then you will need a new clock spring. Thats the main unit with the two switches. PM me your vin. Since you are euro we might not have that part.
