Here’s Why You Should Never Buy a Mini Cooper

This video is hilarious. Why did he not point out the front main seal leak in his video? hahaha

Can I add a bunch of other indicators that these cars are designed by junior engineers?
  • The vacuum pump running off the frickin valve train with a TINY little hole for lubrication
  • The PCV integrated into the darn valve cover
  • The endless oil leaks, particularly at the oil cooler which doesnt have enough bolts to keep it tight to the block
  • The aux water pump...sheesh
  • The starter relay hardwired into the circuit board
  • ...oh did I mention my bone stock engine grenaded itself at 147k miles?

Sounds like your next stop is the Honda dealer. Of course that frog N14 engine was a cripple out of the gate to begin with.

I don’t care for that guy or his philosophy on cars. He is always so frustrated. My car has needed very little in the past 144K. Outside of normal wear and tear: upper chain guide, crankshaft seal, PCV breather, two ignition coils, one spark plug, valve cover gasket, and a few exterior lights and a cup holder. I think that is not too bad.

You're very lucky. By now you should have needed all manner of oil seals and a new turbo.

Start saving some money for the inevitable...
