Latch not engaging when closing the hatchback.
This problem has recently began to happen, I open the hatchback and put whatever into the boot then I go to close the hatchback and the latching mechanism doesn't seem to be engaging. If I repress the release button on the fob it will then engage but I'm curious whats causing it not to reengage after opening.

2 paces to check, a sticky/damaged trunk handle grip: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...rking-diy.html
or a sticky or on its way out latch:

My guess is the latch. I would also match sure that the hook is hitting center on that latch and there is no junk jammed in it. Hit it with some WD40 and retest.
