So I bought a used DDM intake for my car some months back and need ideas about replacing the pressure box seal. I ordered the seal refresh kit from DDM, but the box seal sucks (as you will see in the pics).
Also, I have run into an issue with the intake pushing into the vacuum pump hose barb (?). Do any of you know is anyone makes a different or shorter mount where the vacuum pump attached to the hose?
On a side note, this was totally worth the money I spent. The intake needed some care, so I stripped all parts, painted, and baked a new finish onto it. Heat soak was initially an issue, but I insulated the intake with some heat shielding I found on Amazon. Now my intake temps are usually four to seven degrees above ambient.
I have the same setup on my JCW and had the same problem that I solved by purchasing a leading hood edge gasket from MINI. Check with ECE for this part for a reasonable (cheap) price. Cut to shape and form in place. Much better than original and you'll have plenty of material for other projects.

I completely overlooked that gasket. :D Sounds like a good idea. Thanks man!
