R56 hatch problems
Here in the manual release link, just to make sure you have the right cable.

#1 is the lock itself and looking at it o the left hand side, you can see the white nylon little eyelet , that's the manual trigger release. If the lock is bad electrically you have to replace when you can manually trigger the lock , then open the hatch. Have someone help you press on the hatch a little while you mess with the lock.

The cables connects to the top of the lock, its might have popped off and is located under the bottom panel .

#3 in the rear trim panel which the lock is under to get access to it. You will have to pry it up, as it snaps in on the op and then has expanding plastic rivet on the bottom.
