R56 Atlanta area mechanics
Atlanta area mechanics
Hello!
I'm new to this group, so thanks for having me. I was wondering if anyone had some advice on Atlanta Area mechanics who are capable of changing the timing chain on my 2011 Cooper. My usual mechanic (who I've used for years for work on my volvo) sent me to his mini guy at RWL but they don't have the tools available to change it.
I'd prefer to skip the dealership, so if anyone has any recommendations of great mini mechanics that would be very helpful!
Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the group. I've used these guys to check out my Mini when I first got it.

Way is the only person I will let touch the internals of my Mini except for me.
The Mini dealership out in Gwinette are morons. The one in Chamblee is a bit better but it is hit or miss.

Save yourself the headaches and go to Way Motor Works. He won't steer you wrong and you'll have one of the best looking at your car. Knows MINIs better than almost anyone and has seen it all. He's been a huge resource on the forum and sells many parts to upgrade your MINI as well.

These guys only work on Mini and BMW's. Back in my youth I worked as an engine rebuilder but gave it up for a suit and tie. I've been very frustrated by trying to get work done on Scarlet and the costs to get things done. I've purchased a crap load of tools and just have decided to do most of the work myself. These guys in Kennesaw do great work for a reasonable price and you can get them on the phone. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I actually go outside ATL to Bavarian Repair up in Woodstock. Great folks that do great work! They can fix your timing chain no problem, AND they respond to your emails and calls

I'm also new to the group and to my Mini and learning fast. One of the things I learned (hands-on now, for sure) is that the votes for Way Motor Works are seriously well-deserved. He knows his stuff, hands down. I got referred to him by the folks at Gran Turismo East and boy what a good recommend.
