R56 Exhaust Smoke
Exhaust Smoke
Hello, I have a 2009 Cooper JCW with 74,000 miles. I have noticed some blueish some from the exhaust after the car is warm and sitting at idle.
The compression test showed the following: Cylinders 3&4 were 140 PSI. Cylinders 1&2 were 145 PSI. A wet test was then conducted (small amount of oil poured into each cylinder): All cylinders increased by 5 PSI
A leak down test was then conducted. All cylinders were less than 3%.
Finally, a Crank Case Pressure Test was completed. The difference between atmospheric pressure and crank case pressure was 0.0408 or 40.8 millibars.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on what this means and what I can do to to fix the exhaust smoke?
Thank you
Ed

My car had extended warranty from MINI. After they made sure it wasn't the valve cover causing the issue, the dealer just replaced the entire engine.
