Aftermarket Shift **** and Adapter Question

Experts, hello, hoping someone can help me out with a question. I'd like to put this **** on my car:

http://www.speeddawg.com/black-red-r...pe-shift-****/

It gives options for thread size, based on what I've read, our shift ***** are pressed on and are not threaded. Does anyone know if the option for "Non threaded insert with set screws" would work to mount it up?

Thanks!

pic of my car as a bonus:

I'm actually in the process of trying that right now! I'll let you know when my shiftknob comes in!

Looks very nice with the black headlights, just make sure, some of those universal shift ***** you have to make work.

Not the brand the OP linked, but just now installed a Cravenspeed shift ****. Like many others before me, I chose that brand and config for combo of weighted feel plus machined non-metallic shift **** ball surrounding the machined stainless steel base which avoids excessive heat transfer. What quality pieces they are and worth the extra $$ to me compared to "universal" styles out there.

As suspected before I started installation, seems the prior "owner" had installed an aftermarket **** which had been replaced by the OEM version prior to being turned in at end of 3-year lease. I determined that by the manual shift boot ring having several boot retention clips broken off as well as minimal effort pulling the OEM **** off the shift lever (did so straddling seats with my head out the glass roof). Rather than fool with attempted repair on the OEM boot ring, I also bought a Cravenspeed Shift Well Cover and installed that with a slight twist. Rather than utilizing Cravenspeed's furnished spring-loaded sliding dust plate, I removed the OEM **** from the boot assembly and installed that between Cravenspeed well cover and shift **** and then tucked the tail end evenly below the new shift well. Getting the OEM **** molded clips to release from the boot ring took more time than the rest of the installation. BTW, no need to remove the console since as mentioned, the shift boot ring was already loose enough to pop out by hand. Cravenspeed's painted metal shift cover simply aligns with 2 pins at the 12 o'clock position and snaps into place. I'm gonna enjoy this!

Yeah I've seen those cravenspeed ones and like them but am hoping the one with stripes will work.

Just got around to installing a shiftknob. Unfortunately, the universal type doesn't fit. But I made my own adapter until my short shift kit comes.

Doesn't look anything like the link you posted at the start. That was black/red. This looks like a glass Christmas tree ornament.
