We run stock clutch on all R56's with no issues. We have built several stage 3 or higher R56's with over 300hp and 300trq without issue. We even pushed the E60 fueled Fuel-it/Manic test car to 320wheelTrq on a stock clutch without slipping issues and the car has close to 30k on that clutch. Not too many performance clutches out there have that kind of track record.

Stock clutch? Those are absolute junk. Mine lasted less than 30K. To the OP, get rid of the dual mass flywheel and go with a Kevlar clutch if you are going with a Manic tune. I went with a lightened steel flywheel and a stage 2 Kevlar clutch from JM Turbo Coopers.

If you decide on a lightened clutch / flywheel pair, be prepared for inertia loss when launching. A good tune will compensate for this, but if you have a turbo with high RPM boost requirements, like my big Garrett, you're gonna launch like a steamship. I haven't spun tires at launch in over 4 years, since I switched to OS Giken, but I gotta love the acceleration during boost.

If throwout bearing hadn't gone I'd be on stock original clutch at over 200K miles. Was replaced with OEM at 110K miles, now at 231K miles and still strong as ever.... Typically premature clutch wear has to do more with driver in these cars.

231k on a 2nd gen MCS? If that's the original engine I would be impressed.
I have 212k (engine 169k)but car is sitting now for a clutch job.
