2008 base mini shakes mildly and stops at the light

Hi,

I would really appreciate any inputs on this issue. I would like to be informed before I take it to the mechanic.

This is a recurring problem, it first happened a few months back. Back then the mechanic replaced the MAF and fixed the O2 bank sensor.

What is happening is, sometimes, only at nights, my car stops when in idle at the traffic light. I had a habit of going in neutral at the light which I have stopped doing now. Anyway, coming back to the problem, it basically, shudders for a while and then stops it is really an unpleasant experience and I have lost confidence in my car. A few days back I also had engine oil light come on briefly. I also feel that many times it misfires.

I must mention that, I have a torque and a professional OBD scanner and there are no codes on either of those scanners! Please help!

when was the last time you replaced the battery?

did you check the oil level?

how many miles you have on the car?

Thanks for the reply MiniToBe,

I've got under 70K miles on it. The battery was replaced not more than 3 years ago. The oil level is a bit low.
