Performance Upgrade

Hey Everybody! I just bought a 2011 Mini Cooper Clubman S last week. It is in great condition with 38,000 miles. I want to increase it's performance, but not sure where to start. I have looked at cold air intakes and a computer chip. What will give me the most performace bang for buck? If you all have any other suggestions on what I should do to customize, let me know! Thanks

I've always heard it like this: rear sway bar, intercooler, exhaust, CAI.

Look into the M7 Speed MAXX-FLO Cold Air Intake System here. Unlike other systems on the market the MAF sensor stays in the stock location and no modifications are necessary. Also if you still have run flats, ditch them. A rear sway bar is also a good bang for your buck modification. A tune is a good option to look into as well.

A cold air intake won't do much, usually just noise. For the engine, the best bang for your buck will be a tune via a chip. The JCW engine tuning kit is factory supported, but the most expensive.

The most common answer to new owners for performance improvement when I had my BMW MCoupe is...driving school. This helps improve the weakest link in driving well. The BMW Car Club accepts all BMW-manufactured cars, including ours, and club chapters all over the country have driving schools. They are way fun, too. www.bmwcca.org

He is correct intakes don't make big power if any at all and if someone says they do they are either a liar or don't know what they are talking about.

Go with an ECU tune as it is the best bang for the buck

Then an intercooler is also a great engine mod

Intercooler, drop in air filter, rear swaybar, jb+ plug & play will wake it up for approx $600 +/-.
