I am thinking of getting an intake. I have a 2011 R56 LCI with a JCW Strut Tower bar.
Because of the strut tower bar I find that I am limited. The ram air intakes will not work because of the Bar, and I am not taking the bar off. My limit is less than $300.

So I have compiled a short list of the intake I am considering and I would like any ones pros or cons on each of them…..if anyone has any of them, give me your feedback on whether you like it or not.

2. Alta Performance
3. K&N Typhoon
4. DDM Works

my alta had fitment issues. i had to cut the silicone tube that goes to the MAF shorter to get it to fit right. before i figured out it didnt fit correctly, it broke my stock turbo inlet tube. dont think i would recommend it to anyone.

PS, i didnt buy it, it was on the car when i bought it

 

The M7 Speed MAXX-FLO Cold Air Intake System is a great intake. The M7 design eliminates all the problems found on other aftermarket systems. Unlike other systems on the market the MAF sensor stays in the stock location. No modifications necessary. The air filter element securely mounts to a steel adapter tube, not to the delicate MAF sensor. They're a vendor on here as well so maybe they'll pop in with some more information.
