When to replace rotors?

I'm just looking for opinions on when to replace rotors.

My car (08 MCSa) has about 1/2 brake pads left, and significant (but even) wear on the rotors. Both front and rear are below the 'minimum thickness' cast into the rotors. I'm strictly street driving this car, and braking performance remains strong.

I'm running EBC red pads, factory front rotors and WMW rear rotors.

Any opinions appreciated.

Have fun,
Mike

Probably the last time the pads were changed would have been the time. I'd change them as soon as you can, I'd also put new pads on at the same time. Can't think of a more important component in a car than the brakes.

I change pads/rotors before they are due, what is the point in squeezing every last mile out of them?

Actually, the rotors and pads were changed together, I was a little surprised to see how much the rotors have worn. That is why I asked for other opinions.

If the rotors we of legal, aka, above MINIMUM thickness when you put the pads on, they SHOULD be fine till the pads are done UNLESS you have a VERY AGGRESSIVE PAD, aka a racing pad...
Remember, the MINIMUM thickness measured WHEN NEW PADS ARE INSTALLED.....
one warning...if you ever notice your braking is poor, just replace the rotors and pads....pads are so cheap I would NEVER reuse pads on a new rotor.

EBC Reds are tough of stock rotors especially on the drilled and slotted sport OEM rotors!
