R56 Headlight Bulbs
Headlight Bulbs
Hello everyone,
Welp, one of my headlight bulbs went out. I already know how to replace them but, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on some bulbs and where to get them? I'd prefer something that isn't going to trip the sensor, because I hate seeing the warning.
Any HID bulbs that aren't obnoxious for others to look at? I think they generally look better but, I hate being that guy.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Also, any different bulbs for the fog lamps as well?

Probably should have mentioned that. I don't have Xenon lights or anything, they're just stock headlights.
And by HID, I think meant something like the PIAA Super White bulbs. Something that isn't yellow and more white.

I like my Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. I have run them in my cars and my wife's cars for years. They are still not as white as I would like, and pale in comparison to the LED bulbs in my fog and daytime running lights. They are the whitest I have found, even whiter than the PIAA Xtreme White Plus, to my eyes. So, until I can afford the Xenon upgrade (and coding), they will have to do. LED headlight "bulbs" did not work in my R56S, unfortunately. The computer did not like it, and I had no high beams, even though they were dual-beam LED's.

Have any pictures of your setup? I think I found the right ones at Advanced Auto Parts right near me.

Looks like the model is 9008 for R56 Minis. Not too bad of a price either, if these are the correct ones, I might just go grab them tomorrow.
But also, if no pictures, could you perhaps link me to the ones in your fogs?

9008 is correct for headlight bulbs. I have pics, but have had zero luck sharing them here. I am a computer idiot. LOL. I do not recall the brand of LED's I used in my DRL's and fogs. Try some of the vendors here. I am sure they will have good quality LED fog and DRL bulbs.
the bulb you need is a common size (and mentioned in the owner's manual)
go to any 'major' auto part store and they will help you ... usually will put 'em in for you
I like SilverStar ... have had good results over the years
If "changing" to silverstar you'd want to change both sides lest you see brightness unbalance . . .
