Hid projectors installed. A++++

Hello guys.
I just wanted to share with you that i have installed Morimoto H1 projectors onto my Mini One D 2009 LHD. I did not cut anything. For opening the headlights i just used an hair dry and it was prety easy. I did had some problems only for mounting them, but it did installed good. Is not the perfect solution without cuting, but i was sadisfated with the results. Sorry that i did not take any photo of setup, but i can share only informations that H1 can be installed, and no cut is involted. This is also an experience for opening headlights.

Before installing Morimoto mini H1 with H1 bulb, i had hid kit with H4 bi-xenon bulb. I changed only the bulb with the H1 which did came with hid projectors. Ballasts and relay harness are the same.

No my friend. First i have installed hid kit with H4 bulb which i have ordered from ebay for 100 USD including shipping to my country. A month after i have ordered only hid projectors and H1 bulb from TRS which did cost 160 USD including shipping with 23 usd discount at that time. I know most of us think how to convert existing setup with H4 bulb to H1 bulb. It was simple. H4 bulb use 3 connections. The smallest one, which in H4 bulb is the high beam, has to be connected to solenoid in hid projector. I had bulb out warning, cause you cannot find a special canbus for our mini. i had to program to disable hot and cold monitoring for my mini. but you can always use a capacitors for this problem.

For the hid kit i would recommend the full kit from TRS, cause the kit i ordered from ebay caused me troubles. Company did send me 3 kits, cause one had problem with one ballast in begining, the second had problem with bulb, high beam on always, and now i am at 3-rd kit. Better spare headache and go for full kit for 270 usd. I have read many good story with TRS (theretrofitsource) ballasts, go for them.

Well if you don't want to program, you can use diodes like below. Normaly canbus ballast should not through any bulb out warning in US model, but in my europian model it did, so since i had dcan cable and ncs expert, i did program it. You can install hid projectors. It is more simple that it look. And i can say, the difference is huge. Also don't forget to exchange fog light with led canbus one, i mean w5w bulb. They are great.

I will try to do my best. You have just to remember that when ordering the harness, it should be for H4, but the bulb should be H1 cause Hid projector will use only H1 bulb, and harness needs to be H4 cause original wiring is for H4.

H4? On my 2011 MCS it's H13 (9008)... But I understand what you're saying. I know how to wire them up, I'm more interested in the Morimoto Projector installation and where you've put your ballast to get an idea of where I might put mine.

Hi, I had some questions for you on how you did this:

When you say no cutting do you mean you did not cut the reflector or projector shroud?
Did you mount the projector to the reflector using the locking screw on method?
How did you aim and adjust the projector?
Is there a gap between the reflector and shroud?
Can you post some closeup pics of the reflector and shroud?

With no cuting involted i mean cut on reflector, but for sure the shroud need to be cut in its base. Aiming was after putting it on with car on. You can rotate the reflector, and for vertical or horizontal aim you can use the + buttons on the house to aim them.
