Urgent: Need help

I'm painting the brake calipers on my '07 MCS right this very moment. Well I'm cleaning them at the moment. I noticed a cord with a green, 90 degree tip at the end of it. I think I found where it fits into but it seems to only for loosely. Who knows what this is and where it goes? Is it supposed to be able to wiggle in its spot? Thanks in advance for the know how. I probably should've known this before starting this project.

Could it be the brake sensor? Which brake? The left front, or the right rear, maybe?

It sounds like the pad sensor. The plastic end is supposed to have a thin clip that wraps around it that holds it in the pad slot. It's a small "U" shaped clip. If u don't have the clip the sensor won't stay in place It's #7 in the pic.

Thanks for the diagram, that actually helped me out a lot. I have everything in place and I think it should be ok. Do you think if its not properly put in place that I will get thrown a code?

No code per say. But if it comes out and gets stuck somewhere and tears the wire you will get the notice that the brakes are due to be replaced as the open circuit mimics the wear sensor being worn.
Not a biggie. But just answering your question. The sensor isn't that expensive. And you already know how to install it lol.

zip tie it back on it self . . .

or snip it off and tie the two wire ends together (I solder and use heat shrink tube to waterproof)

this is what people you don't want/need the wear sensors do

Good thing I have some brand new zip ties! I knew they'd come in handy! Thanks for the tip. I definitely don't want my sensors to end up looking like that
