Okay..so is your HK amp still in the car? The factory head unit communicated to the amp in order for it to work. Are you trying to hook your kenwood to the factory amp?

Heres the way I understand it.. If you are going to use an aftermarket head unit and still use the factory H/K amp in the car you will need to get what I think they call the H/K Enabler. But if you have cut wires already im not sure how that would work for you now. Maybe someone else can chime in here for you! Did you remove the H/K amp?

Sorry, but why the heck would you cut all the wires without you knowing exactly what you are doing? Or what the consequences are?

That was for sure a big mistake. Didnt thought the car was so hard to make that kind of change.

The H/K system in the MINI is integrated into the car. Not at all easy to just swap to an aftermarket head unit. Cutting those wires was a real no no! At this stage im not sure what might be better for you. If you decide to run an aftermarket amp along with your kenwood you will have to run all new speaker wires and then im not sure you can even use the factory speakers. The H/K amp also acted like a electronic crossover. I would try to splice those wires back together..Good luck!

You have three choices. Put it all back. Buy an HK enabler. They are available through Mike's Mini.
Run wires to the speakers yourself, bypass the HK amp.

I guess it all depends on what you want to do.

I actually think the HK system is pretty good, with the exception of the crap bass. The addition of the Integral Audio sub fixed that.
