I have a 2010 Mini Cooper s and as you guys know there is very little factory gauges and monitoring I am wondering what is the best fix for this with out spending 800 dollars on a set of gauges. I have seen the edge cts 2 moniter that plugs into the obd 2 port. It looks awesome and there is so many features, Does anyone have this and are using it? Do you like it? Or is there a better solution I would like to have a permanent moniter so kinda leaning away from the Bluetooth plugs with the phone apps. Thanks for your feed back!
We offer custom programmed ScangaugeII's that are preset with all the special gauges for the MINI. This is what I use in each of my personal cars and recommend to everyone. http://www.waymotorworks.com/scangauge-ii.html
My car came with the JCW gauges (water temp, relative torque) and only the temp gauge is worth looking at. The cost of the JCW gauges is too high for the value they add.
I installed a Scangauge II. I am also installing an electric oil pressure gauge and a mechanical boost gauge. I really like knowing what is going on in my engine.
get a obd adapter, then a 7 or 8 " tablet and use dashcommand , I have 6 gauge setup and it will do logging as well, spent about $150 for everthing including mountek mount which goes in CD player slot.
I don't have factory nav, so I have a Garmin GPS mounted. I use their EcoRoute attachment in the OBD port; it gives a gauge display a lot like the one that the OP mentioned:
