Valvetronic Exhaust Question

I am deciding between the IPE or Garbino Valvetronic Exhaust for my GP. My main concern is that I do not like the wireless remotes for them. I would prefer to have it as a button or toggle inside the car. I have looked everywhere for an answer or solution. I have a blank toggle location and also the blank button location between Sport mode and GP mode, would it be possible to utilize these or any other location so that it would look OEM. Thanks!

well if you want the OEM look you need an OEM button, but its just a matter of wiring up the remote to the button contacts and cleaning up the install

I had mine apart last night (sport button/DSC console). Good luck trying to fit anything in there, it's waaaay too tight to fit a spare button. It's got a connector and a bunch of junk with it.

I've been looking for spare switch locations for driving lights..

You could potentially you the blank toggle location. They sell OEM toggles for about $10, then find the correct wires cut them, solder in new wires to the remote which you can keep in the glovebox.

This sounds like it is going to be a pain to accomplish . Has anyone used a spare toggle for something else other than what it was intended for?

I finally looked up the exhaust you are talking about. It sounds really good but, you were throwing me off because I was thinking you meant Valvetronic on the exhaust cam like what is on the N18 engine.

You guys really have no idea how the electronics in these cars work do you?

All the switches and buttons are can bus. They are not wires or switches as you know them.

That's not to say you couldn't add a real switch and wire it up.

I was wondering if that switch bank was actually a micro-controller.

So would adding the rear fog light toggle switch, activating it, and then using it's wires to the remote not work?

It would be more complicated than that, you would have voltage on the line, which the remote/controller would not like.

I'm going to order the iPE and would love to wire up a switch! subscribed. I don't have a sunroof and that would be a great place to wire up a switch, or maybe one of the blank button around the shift well adjacent to the dsc and sport buttons.

Your concerned over a button from the exhaust system? Really?

Carve it into your door pull, wrap it in a bit of alcantara or whatever bs vinyl you can think of and call it a day.

Yes I've seen yours and that is a great idea. The only problem is that the Garbino wireless remote from Power Craft isn't as cosmetically appealing. I do like the sound better though.

Oy...that looks like trash. lol. For something that expensive, you'd think they'd make the button a bit more appealing to press. Either way, I'd crack up the casing and build it into something that can accommodate the board.

Just gotta take off the door pull and use a dremel or something similiar. steady hands and some Alcantara and you're set.

Won't it fit on your key ring?

When you're blasting on the freeway and you see a CHP roll up from behind or trying to go WOT and you see Sheriff heading towards you on the street, you don't want to fiddle with keys to turn off your waling exhaust, hence why I built it into my armrest.

I always know where it's located and I can quickly and easily turn it off/auto instantly.
