Sea foam fogger

Started with the block and connected a brass elbow fitting instead if using the boost gauge adapter, or whatever the heck it's called and put a cap on it. Then I took a second cap and drilled a small hole into it. Small enough to put the straw from the sea foam fogger into it. Place it on the fitting start car and use sea foam, car does not stall and you don't need a second person. Turn off car, replace cap with one with no hole and start in 20 minutes to clean valves. Costs $4.67 at orielly for all pieces, have drove for three weeks with no problems and the only piece you ever switch is the cap when you want to sea foam it.

Sorry to say that seafoam is not going to remove carbon from your valves. You need a walnut shell blasting for that.

^ if done regularly, it will lengthen the life of your valves. Not saying that carbon won't happen, but it will slow the rate of which carbon accumulates.

Which is postponing the inevitable walnut shell blast, but nevertheless it is a very economical option for postponing the blast, which is considered a costly major maintenance item.

I'm surprised to not see more "S" cars using water or meth injection. Does a GREAT job of cleaning stuff.

That said, regular seafoam will likely help a little, though it won't get it all, for sure.

^ one can dream. I would do it if Aquamist system + tune > $1500.
But after labour, parts, tune, and depreciation, it's probably better to just save that money and buy a new MCS :P

Seafoam = snake oil. There is no evidence it actually cleans anything.

If it makes you feel better go for it.

Than what the hell is it blowing smoke from? I'm not saying it's going to clean the entire valve, but by working into the intake runners and the ports on the head, it'll at least clean something along the way that won't get the chance to stick to a valve.

Seafoam will not do you any good, and water meth can only do so much. So don't go around thinking just because you have a water/meth doesn't mean you don't have to get your valves cleaned. Not speaking to anyone in particular, but it should be done. Buddy of mine has over 50k miles and never got his valves cleaned. Had Aquamist for for the life of the MINI and this is how the valves look still. Water meth is not bullet proof, but it'll help, to an extent.

Now he's performing just fine after I recommended he take his MINI to my buddy's shop to get it done. If you're over 40k, don't 2nd guess this kinda work...get it done.

I'm at 64k miles and I'll be getting it done again soon. If you don't want any issues, don't hesitate to get this service performed on your MINI.

@ra2fanatic

Would running 99% meth be better for cleaning valves? I honestly just want to get Aquamist Meth purely to keep the valves clean.

Meth + water vs. straight meth is pretty similar as far as cleaning power goes.

No. injection isn't always on so it will definitely keep your engine nice and cool, like 40degrees cooler when injecting, but your valves will still get coked.

Like I said, I know I have to get it done, there's absolutely no way around it.

Sadly for us, I believe it is safe to say that carbon cleaning is inevitable. I'm at 58k and had my valves blasted around 56k at $400 from Orlando MINI. Pricey, but the difference is night and day. Seafoam, though cheap, isn't worth it on our cars.

I love my MINI and plan to keep it as long as I can, so I will most likely get the walnut blast done yearly. Better safe than sorry.

You would think that with as many MINIs and BMWs that need the walnut blasting, the price would be cheaper than it is.

Well I've offered this service to people in SoCal for a long time, so it's weird people don't want it done for $300. Their loss really!

lol. I think I've recommended his shop many times already and everyone leaves happy with his service. Make a trip of it!

Anyone is welcome and I always get someone who wants to drive my MINI and I normally let others drive my MINI around the block too to see how it feels.

I didn't know people would troll on here and start billy graham style preaching on sea foam. I made the media blaster that is shown how to make on this forum and used it already on my car. So now I do the sea foam once a month for maintenance. If it doesn't work it cost me $7 dollars a month and I will just blast it again next year when I am on vacation. If it doesn't work, I view it as a fat chick eating mcdonalds and complaining about her weight, least I'm doing something outside and productive. Plus I never preached about sea foam I only wanted to show an alternative to buying a expensive fogger. Some ones rebuttal will be "buying sea foam is a waste" and my rebuttal would be "tell your wife to stop eating mcdonalds and complaining about her weight! so she can get you off your computer so you don't have to troll the internet." Plus we all know excess weight does slow down your quarter mile time, but oh yeah these cars corner great stick with their strengths but oh yeah huge women cause a lot of body roll in a car taking a corner quickly. Bam take the mike
