Pcv / inlet hose help!

Hey guys, so here is the short & sweet version of my issue. Got a CEL, my Mini dealer said vacuum leak of the hose running into the valve cover on the right side if standing in front of car. I'm new to the Mini world so forgive me for any wrong names for certain parts.

Now, my dealer not only replaced my entire valve cover itself, but also my turbo inlet hose. Hose went on much tighter than the previous one, and the CEL stayed off almost all day. Then, all of a sudden, poof its back on, and the hose is just as easy to pull off as the previous one was. I did find a very VERY small trace of oil in there, though, but again very little. So my car bogs down like crazy idling when the CEL is on, gas suffers, etc.

I took the end of the inlet hose off the valve cover end (as you can see in the pictures), and my RPMs didn't bog down on idle anymore, the response isn't as good though, but my light is still on because of the wiring connected to the inlet hose still relaying, I didn't take that off yet but I'm not sure that would rid me of the CEL anyway. I'm just curious what to do? I need this fixed before my New Orleans trip plus the gas is killing lol.

Is there a cap off/delete option for this? Another solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, Justin.

Do you have the locking clip on the valve cover that snaps into place once the hose is inserted into the valve cover? It's number 16 in the diagram

It'll take a couple drive cycles to clear or go to an AutoZone and have them clear it.

Make sure you push the the tube all the way in and clip that little clip down. Also make sure the turbo inlet bottom section is all the way in on the turbo and tight. As well as the connection to the MAF sensor by the airbox.

#10 is the intake boot ( ribber version ), #16 is the clip

Also check the back hose running off the valve cover. They can also throw leak codes if not clipped in all the way.

You might have to clear the code to see if it returns. I believe its stored. MINI dealership can do this or some OBD2 scanners.

Thanks

Okay thought so that's what I did just making sure. I'm at a store now to get my spark plugs so hopefully they can clear it here and see if it comes back, if not hopefully it goes away on its own.

The clip didn't make a click noise or anything like that, not sure if its supposed to. It just slid down smooth and that's it. Wasn't sure if I needed to line the hose up with those little divits that make it look like its supposed to connect to something. On my second drive cycle now and its still on. Probably have to take it to Mini.

Yes, it clips down, you wont here a click noise. The top of the mount should be flush with the valve cover.

Everything is on and snug. Still have the CEL but I'm gonna disconnect the battery and reset the ecu to clear it and see if it comes back. Did a seafoam treatment today and there wasn't even a puff of smoke, shocked me to say the least at almost 59k. Putting the ngk iridium plugs in in about an hour or so, so hopefully all my issues are resolved come that time.

Disconnected battery for over 20min, still have the CEL :/ Guess going to Mini is my only option now, hopefully I'm not charged a lot for just having it erased.

I'm curious how if MINI replaced the valve cover, that clip wasn't installed to begin with. Something I'd bring up to the dealer in my opinion.
