R56 Colorado performance shop?
Colorado performance shop?
Unless I've missed something in my searching of the forums, I'm looking to see if anyone knows of a local shop here in colorado(more north if possible as I'm in Longmont) that does performance ecu tunes/flashes like rmw in Cali. My family is there and I could always drive there to get a flash done but I rather not put the miles on the r56. I only have this car currently so sending off my ecu is a no go. Any help would rock :D I have an 09 cooper s hatch and so far I have the catch can and just a cai and no other mods
Not sure if it's still available but RMW used to offer a remote tune using a flash tool.
Here is another thread regarding tunes near Denver.

There doesn't seem to be a good answer yet but it would be interesting to have a turn on the dyno as a baseline test.
Hope that helps,
John - also in Longmont.

No one tunes in CO for the time being. Supposedly PAW is training the folks up at SCR Performance in Loveland, but whether that's true and if it is, when those guys will be up and running I have no idea. They can install any bolt-on upgrade, but tunes either have to be flashed or the ECU shipped to be encrypted.
My advice: Get everything that doesn't require a tune out of the way. Specifically get suspension mods done. Then see where SCR is after about a year or so. At least then you wouldn't have wasted money on a hybrid turbo or anything of the sort that you're left high-and-dry on with no one wanting to tune for those type of mods. Learn from the mistakes of others on this.

I too live in Longmont, but work in Boulder. I contacted Autohaus Boulder and according to the person I spoke with, they are capable of tuning MINIs. Haven't made the plunge yet, but my hybrid turbo isn't being fully realized until I tune. They are a Euro import shop all around, and after my phone call with them, I will most likely go to them for repair/troubleshooting instead of a dealership (Loveland/Schomp).

Any idea on a price for the tune? I was thinking of trying the unichip piggyback that just got a revision but if there is a local tune available I would be interested

For R56 - N18 tuning, the JB+ clip in module is looking very good. I'd like to try it soon.

I've looked into it and I've decided to give the revised unichip a shot. Gonna be buying that and the gp2 belly pan and installing it all probably after the first week of January as I'm gonna get my serpentine belt changed and have mini double check to make sure the oil pan seals arnt done as it looks like there is burnt oil all over the oil pan. Once that's done I'll install the new parts. Mini is backed up here in loveland till the first week of January for appointments o.0
we have a dealer in Colorado who can help you out. He is one of our ONLY dealers that can bench tune a n18. Please send me a pm or email to alex@evovleautomotive.com if you are interested

Waiting for a response from evolve but it looks like jzw will do it for $550 since its a local tune. May run up there this Friday and see about getting a tune done at jzw if the price is too much from evolve
This guy is the best and in Longmont, CO as well. I have known Harvey since I was in College in Boulder and had a MKIV Toyota Supra that he helped me with.http://www.theboostcreepltd.com/
