Shops in IL to install Aftermarket Seats

Hey guys... I was wondering if anyone knew or could recommend a shop in Illinois that could install some aftermarket seats. I just dont trust myself with the airbags and occupant sensors. Thanks!

Anybody? Or maybe even anyone wanting to do it for me? I'd obviously pay ya.

It's a shame you aren't in Omaha, I'd love to help a Mini owner upgrade without paying shop rates. As for airbags, if you do decide to tackle this yourself just make sure you unhook your battery for about 30 minutes prior to doing the work. This should discharge any residual electricity that might ever cause a concern with the air bags.

I think he's worried about getting an airbag light on his dash. The airbags are easily defeated with resistors. It's the seat position sensor, seat belt sensors, and driver seat seat distance detector that make the job a pain. I just deal with the light on mine.

When I see someone ask about people doing work because they are scared of the airbags, I always assume they're worried about setting them off accidentally. Ever seen airbags go off? It's a valid concern lol.

Yes, they are like bombs. If he just disconnects the battery he'll be OK.

The airbag light really isnt that big of a deal to me. Its the seat position sensor
and the weight sensor that I am worried about. I tried doing a seat swap on a previous car of mine and it was a nightmare. Had to ride around town with the constant dinging every 30 seconds because of the weight sensor. Every since then... the mere thought of installing different seats gives me extreme anxiety haha. Then I also dont know which brackets would fit... and if I'd have to drill into the seats to get the brackets..sliders... to fit.

Give A&L Autobody/iND a call. Ask for Anthony and tell him Paul with a black Coupe sent you. He's a good friend of mine and his shop does fantastic things. I don't trust anyone but them. They're located in Palatine.

On the MINI the airbag light is... just a light thankfully. I agree, that the best approach is to do it right and have it behave like stock with no errors or lights.
