Boost Cuts Out

2009 Mini Cooper S. In 4th, 5th and 6th gear my boost cuts out at 3500, 3000, 3000 rpm respectively. Highway pulls are impossible. I've got a handful of mods, it's been tuned and tested for boost leaks and everything checks out. Anyone else notice something similar or know a way to fix it? As always, your help is much appreciated!

Any CEL's? Hard to tell without a code. Are you getting the yellow half engine power symbol on the tach?

I'm not getting a CEL but my AccessPort is showing a couple codes. The only two that have a description are front o2 check min, and int manifold leak, not sure what to think about either one

Intake manifold leak will cause boost issues for sure...

P1497 is your problem...

Check again for leaks...and also check the inlet piping into the turbo...they tend to split and this will cause a vaccuum leak

Your car is boost cutting because it is trying to hit certain boost target but it isn't reaching them so it just trys to run more boost to compensate and it will only run so much before it cuts out like you are seeing.

Turbo Inlet Sugestions and intake tubing

Hello to you all,

I am new to this forum and have to say that all of your feedback has helped me tremendously. I have owned for a year a 2009 factory JCW with a DOS CAI and DOS WTAIC running Alta Stage 1. I have been experiencing boost cutting recently and after further investigating my turbo inlet is warped on the turbo housing and needs to be replaced. I want to go with an aluminum upgrade possibly the Alta but wanted to see if anybody else recommended another vendor with a more durable approach. I also have to replace my intake tubing from the hood to the lower intake because of warping on the tube. Does anybody know of a more durable non plastic replacement for this? I can only find the cheap plastic stock version which is beyond me why Mini decided to go with so much plastic throughout the intake system.
