Not the JCW stuff, but the OEM $500 Sport Suspension...

Does it show up on the VIN anywhere?

R56 Justa if that matters.

No, a VIN only identifies the car model and date of manufacture.

However, MINI has a database of all options installed at the factory for each VIN. You can ask a dealer to look it up.

This request actually pertained to an SCCA thing so the fact that the Sport Suspension does not show up on the VIN is most helpful news.

Thanks!!!

The Vehicle Order does show the suspension type (it is an electronic code stored in the computer of the vehicle) the vehicle was built with.

OK. But not the VIN, as was said earlier. Correct? Or do you mean something altogether different?

Correct, not the VIN.

The VO string is stored in the FRM and CAS module, and can be read with NCS Expert or the dealer-level software tools (like DIS and ISTA/P).

If you're worried about stock class eligibility, you're allowed to add factory options. So you could add sport suspension to any R56 and still be in stock.

Thanks, but after 19 years autocrossing, I am aware of the Stock allowances. This is more of seeking a legal "loophole" regarding dampers and "stuff". Therefore, in the words of Forrest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that."
