R56 question about a 2010 JCW
question about a 2010 JCW
I currently have a 2012 MCS and looking to trade it in for a 2010 JCW (yes that may sound silly to some). besides the front fascia being different (is the rear different too?) and a different radio, are there any other differences to the car? were the packages different back then? did the JCWs come with the auto LSDs standard?
what do you guys think about the price? JCW hardtop 2010 with 23277 miles on it for $26200? comes with blacked out xenons, white turn signals, cold weather pkg, auto ac, harmon kardon audio, JCW aero kit, and black driving lights

Doesn't sound silly to me.
The body kit does include a different rear fascia. The LSD was not standard. Quickly off the top of my head: different wheels, tune, "beefed up" internals (pistons/rod/crank/block), turbo, clutch, tranny, brakes and suspension (optional).
I'd say the price is a little bit on the high side, but I haven't looked at the market for JCW's in a year now.

You probably don't realize what the car is that you are considering. There was only one JCW that came with the body kit and blacked out headlights in 2010. It is the WC50 for sale in MD.
Buy it. Trust me, the car is an absolute steal at that price, considering that the window sticker was $40,300. The previous owner added the JCW suspension (Approximately another $2k installed).
That particular car is WC50 #426. One of only 50 imported to the US.

is it no longer an option on the new JCWs? how come i don't see it on the miniusa builder?
It is not listed as an option because it is standard on the JCW. The 2010 car you are looking at did come with EDLC.

not trying to be rude but not exactly. The electronic compensation for LSD was standard---edlc as you mentioned. The MECHANICAL lsd in the gear box was indeed phased out in mid-2010 builds. Now you have to get a Quafe or OS Giken lsd if you want a mechanical
I stand corrected on the LSD. I guess I was confused, so thanks for correcting me. I guess my 2009 have EDLC as well? I didn't see any mention of either of those on my spec list.
If that is a WC50, that's a good deal. I was looking at one and regret not getting it! I would have had to buy sight unseen and have it shipped and that altered my decision at the time.

The EDLC is listed as an option, its part of DTC, which is standard so its automatically checked in the configurator. As far as I remember, DTC has always been standard from when the JCW was released in 09. They never had a mechanical LSD options, and coincident with the release of the JCW (without mechanical LSD) mechanical LSD was deleted as an option from the S.
Pardon me jumping in here. But I have a white 2010 JCW under 17000 miles, if you look hard in the marketplace you can find my ad there..
