R56 +35mm offset wheels question...

Anybody running 18x8 +35mm offset wheels? Or any size with +35 offset for that matter? Any issues? Thanks

18x8 with +35 offset wheels

Which wheels are you looking at getting with those specs. The reason I'm asking is because my wheels have those EXACT specs. I'm running a set of MSR 045 wheels that are 18x8 with a +35 offset. I've got them wrapped with Goodyear F1's: 225/35/18. I'm also sitting on a set of H&R sport springs. I have absolutely no problems with rubbing (except when I "bottom-out" on big dips). My setup BARELY pokes out from the fenders. I'm totally happy with the setup.

I am on 17x7.5 +35MM.

I dont have issues and I run a 225/45/17 - so +20MM wider than stock and am on lowering springs and I do not rub.

Well, funny you ask. I'm looking at the MSR 045 and the Exel TZ-10 18x8 +35 on both. Can you post a photo of how much they poke past the fenders. Im lowered, but not too low. Thanks

Just found out the whole Exel line is discontinued, so the MSRs are looking like my wheel.

Here are some pics of my setup. I hope this helps. Btw, I love my wheels. I was actually surprised that I was able to fit the 225/35/18 on and not have any rubbing issues, especially when turning lock-to-lock.

oh, btw, sorry for the filthy car. I quietly hang my head in shame for not keeping my mini in better condition. ;-) It actually looks better when she's clean -- as do the wheels.

Just a quick note, and I'm not just saying thing because it's my car, but that stance with the wider rubber (225/35/18) is definitely sweet. My original tires were 205/40/18 and they were stretched on the 18x8s. If you decide on this wheel setup, don't let the wheel shop tell you that you can't go wider -- because you can and it looks a heck of a lot better than the 205s. Don't go anything less than 215s. You WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. I was. Good luck and be sure to post pics after you get your wheels mounted.

Surprised you still have that much wheel gap with the H&Rs.

Yeah, it's the only annoying thing about the H&R setup. The back end is higher than the front. I have an alta rear sway bar set at the hardest setting, but that doesn't make a difference in height. I wish the rear sat as low as the front.

You should have seen it before the springs- 4x4 mini. Before the springs, the wheels actually looked way too big for the car. It looked like one of those ghetto @ss caddy's rollin on 24s.

I'm happy with the H&Rs for now. I may drop the $$ and get some coil overs later on down the road. But there are many other important mods I'll be purchasing before I worry about dropping my car another 1". And if I do, one day, switch to coil overs, I think I'll be changing out the wheels too and drop back down to some 17s.

I only say that cause I am on H&R springs and my car seems to have less wheel gap then that if you go up a little in the thread i linked a pic of my car and I seem to be about 1/2" to 1" lower.

And I am not trying to be rude just comparing setups so please dont take it that way.

Oh, by all means, no offense taken in any way. I totally agree with you. I think another thing that increased my wheel gap is when I switched to the 225/35s from my original 205/40/18s. My new tires are a lot thinner. I thought about going with 225/40/18, but when I stood those next to the 205/40/18s they were significantly taller. I figured I would play it safe and go with the lower profiles. My biggest concern was the wider tires rubbing in the front when I turned full lock.
